June 17, 201313 yr hi all been reading this forum for few weeks now and its my turn for some help ive recently bought a gas gas txt pro 2002 and it keeps overheating and blowing from inline thermo switch. never noticed when i bought the bike the fan only comes on when you rev the engine doesnt kick in when hot so started reading this forum for clues and noticed my bike does not have a rectifier on it(hows this possible) and previous owner must of bodged it up i'll add some pics soon of my wiring. But the two wires that come out of the thermo switch blue and yellow. only one is connected and thats the yellow one and that goes to the regulator. please help im hoping all i'll need is a rectifier
June 17, 201313 yr I think this is the wiring diag for your model and it shows both rectifier and regulator. hope this helps. http://www.trialspartsusa.com/diagrams/Kok2002Pro.jpg
June 18, 201313 yr Author Been trials uk today got a new rectifier so rewired all electrics ive had to bump start it because theres no kickstart either. When i bought the bike i didnt think they would be so dear Edited June 18, 201313 yr by burnleytazz
June 19, 201313 yr Fan is not supposed to come on instantly. Likely shorted thermo switch unless you have wired direct.
June 19, 201313 yr Author tell me about it ive owned the bike 2 months, been looking all that time ive been to most bike breakers in north west one had on but was for gas gas jtx and that was £45 so been around to local fabrication workshop and asked if they could make one out of steel instead of ally pick it up fri then i'll have another fiddle with the electrics on friday another fun day for should be back on quarry this weekend
June 20, 201313 yr Its better to have the fan on all the time rather than to not come on at all. If you are going to ride before it is completely fixed, wire it on the "On" position.
