July 8, 201313 yr Just got my gasgas out after a couple of months laid up, the spokes and nipples have gone rusty, so has various parts of the frame! Anyone else had this problem?
July 8, 201313 yr This will happen to any machine, not just a gasser. Spray all over with WD40 or similar to protect against the damp.
July 8, 201313 yr Yes, frustrating isnt it!! Autosol on my 06 chrome frame recovered most of the damage. Dom
July 8, 201313 yr Author I have it parked next to a beamish and bultaco and they are fine (and 30 years older) Edited July 8, 201313 yr by suzuki250
July 9, 201313 yr I`ve had brand new gassers rusted in the crate before. Not a good start on a `new` bike.
July 9, 201313 yr I seem to recall Yamaha advertising the TY range in the late 70s/early 80s remarking that unlike some mediterranean makes they won't go red at the first sign of water, or words to that effect. Seems some things never change. However my Beamish does have rust on it, but it doesn't make any difference to how well (or not usually) it goes, that's all my own doing
