August 3, 201313 yr A 300cc 2 stroke trials bike is quite a different animal than say a 300cc 2 stroke enduro or MotoX bike. Different set up, gearing, trials bike is much lighter, etc. Maybe you would enjoy a 270cc bike, (GasGas labels theirs as a 280, Sherco as a 2.9) bit more oomph than a 250 but not as much crazy as a 300. GasGas 280 in my opinion has better low end torque than the Sherco 2.9, but both will rev up quickly. Beta does have 300SS model (Super Smooth.........whatever the hell that means) also Beta has a 250 and 300 4 stroke models A couple of years of Beta there is a 290cc model.
August 3, 201313 yr 300 of any brand is great fun between sections or on a monster hill climb. However look at a youtube video where somebody tries to wheelie a big road bike and goes off the back.....Fun ?? Trials is about precision, just enough speed and being on the right line. Thats very difficult on a 300 for a beginner. Go to some events near you, middle and easy course winners will probably be riding smaller cc bikes. Finally its your choice im just saying what I think. Buy the bike you want and as long as your smiling thats all that counts.
August 4, 201313 yr Author any idea of any 2nd hand dealers of trials bikes anywhere close to the Northwest as im worried to buy from ebay/gumtree as i have no knowledge or engine quality etc
