As title says really is there a mod to make the beta brakes work lol as beta must have the ****est brakes dose any one no where the problem lays have been thinking to re place for another master cylinder ? Like this one in photo what's your thorts to it

I think you need a better mechanic. The beta`s used to have the worst brakes thru 1999. Since the rev 3 came out they have been fine.

Have you got decent (Galfer), clean brake pads?

Is there no air in the system?

Do the pistons in the caliper move freely?

Does the pedal have enough free play?

Did you try the water trick?

Whats the water trick if I may ask?

Heat them up by riding round with brakes on till they are really hot then quench with lots of water.

My beta 290 had decent enough brakes so changing master cylinder wont cure your problems I'm guessing, as stated above.

When a bike is new or your brakes are not working. You run up and down the road getting the brake nice and hot and throw a bucket of water on them. One brake at a time. works a treat. I saw a world champ doing this on a brand new bike is how I `learned` the trick.

To be fair to the poster the rear brake on a beta is not as sharp as on a gas gas or sherco. This maybe because the pedal is shorter or that the kit is different.

Maybe I should recommend some used formulas . The 2012 de-bacle of brakes was no better. The poster was banging the brand instead of looking for help. After all the poor B--st--ds that delt with the GASSER and Sherco problems in 2012.
