December 9, 201312 yr Afternoon folks Anybody repaired the fan motor on an evo/rev3 ...or even techno I think. Or any trials bike come to that - mine is making a dry rumble when running and I suspect the bearings are goosed (good old pressure washer!) A new one is not exactly cheap as they only list the full motor/impeller and cowling as one part - all I think I need is a motor or better still to strip it down and swap some bearings in from a local factors. Just wondered if anyone has done it before, prior to me getting it started and having it in bits only to find the bearings don't remove etc cheers Edited December 9, 201312 yr by twinkletoes
December 9, 201312 yr Have a look on ebay .you can buy complete fan units for not much money and they are not a million miles from a beta one .I think an aprilla sports bike one is almost identical I think
December 9, 201312 yr It seems the new Minis have a badly placed oil cooler such that the motor collects all the muck and siezes up - very expensive. An IT friend whose wife had this problem just used the fan off a computer, seems to work OK and reasonably priced. Probably free out of a scrap computer near you. December 10, 201312 yr The fans are made by a company called Spaal, or at least mine was. After trawling the internet looking for a replacement I bought a full price one from Beta. I was then told that a watercooled scooter fan would fit. A mate of mine has used them a few times. Should have asked him in the first place!
