December 10, 201312 yr hi all, my bike has a number plate on it but i dont have the v5, ive checked online on the dvla site and its confirmed the bike, there site says its a 2002 but the frame number tells me its a 2001 could this be a typo maybe. also does anyone know how i go about getting the v5 for it. tia tony
December 10, 201312 yr Check the DVLA website but IIRC you need to send in a v62 form https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/209995/v62.pdf
December 10, 201312 yr Maybe made in 01 but lay around at the importers for a while before being registered. As totty says, you have to fill in a form for a replacement v5, last time I got one it was £25 but may be more now, also used to depend if you lost it or were never given it.
December 10, 201312 yr Author 2002 manufactured and first reg 2003, thanks totty ill get the form and get it sorted tony
December 10, 201312 yr Remember to put a SORN on it if it's not going to be fully road legal, ie tax, insurance, MoT or they'll do you for it.
December 10, 201312 yr Change to SORN http://www.visordown...week/24155.html Save a lot of hassle for registered bikes, not on the road. Edited December 10, 201312 yr by bilks
May 9, 201412 yr I purchased a Montesa with no paperwork ie no V5. Contacted dvla & gave them frame & engine numbers. They asked me to send V62 & £25 also to leave box empty for reg no. That was 3 months ago & I had give up really. Just had a letter saying V5 is on its way and telling me reg no. So it's worth a try you never know.
