March 5, 201412 yr Hiya, I have owned a few Evo's from new and for the earlier models the manual said to lower the needle 1 notch after it was run in. I am not sure if this is still correct for the 13 factory 250? What is the standard needle height setting? Cheers Tony

March 6, 201412 yr In Canada we found the 2013 bikes ran better with the needle in the richest position ie: clip at the bottom.
March 6, 201412 yr When I got my 300 dropped the needle thinking it was a bit rich. Wrong direction, I ended up with it next to the bottom groove. Second richest needle position and it runs much sweeter. Only way for you to really know is to try it and see. Each bike is a bit different.

I'm pretty sure I had to lower it by slots.
