June 21, 201412 yr On my GG 2009 280 there is a 8mm allen bolt on the left side (same size as the rear axle). I have tried like hell to loosen this thing to no avail. On the other side is a recessed large opening. Am I missing something? Should I be able to just loosen the 8mm allen bolt and remove the front wheel? Thanks all.
June 22, 201412 yr I don't know your bike exactly but most forks have some sort of pinch bolt, or nuts, that squeezes on the head of the axle. You have to loosen them first to be able to loosen the axle itself.

June 22, 201412 yr Author Thanks guys. I got the allen bolt loose finally (put some WD-40 on it and let it sit overnight) I'll loosen the pinch bolts and proceed. Thanks all.
June 23, 201412 yr If you don't want to have that problem again, put some anti-seize paste on the threads before reassembly.
June 26, 201412 yr Author Got the wheel off no problem, thanks for the help. This forum has saved me big time in figuring out this bike-Thanks!
