Removing Front Wheel Trouble

Featured Replies

On my GG 2009 280 there is a 8mm allen bolt on the left side (same size as the rear axle). I have tried like hell to loosen this thing to no avail. On the other side is a recessed large opening. Am I missing something? Should I be able to just loosen the 8mm allen bolt and remove the front wheel? Thanks all.

I don't know your bike exactly but most forks have some sort of pinch bolt, or nuts, that squeezes on the head of the axle. You have to loosen them first to be able to loosen the axle itself.

as he said also dont over tighten it when you refit just nip it up then tighten up the pinch bolts

Thanks guys. I got the allen bolt loose finally (put some WD-40 on it and let it sit overnight) I'll loosen the pinch bolts and proceed. Thanks all.
