July 23, 201412 yr i am going to do my 1st oil change on my new 2012 gas gas 300 how much oil am i meant to put in? 400ml? or just take it to the top of the sight glass? cheers
July 24, 201412 yr 400 ml should be close - top tip from our local 'hot shots' is two thirds up the sight glass with bike standing on both wheels. Paul Mac
July 24, 201412 yr Half way the sight glass is what GasGas recommends. With more in it you risk clutch drag.
July 24, 201412 yr Too much willcan take your seals out (or it will come trough the breather). Too less will potentially cause more friction in the gears etc so more wear. Its around 385 I always use. Depends also how good you managed to get the oil out. I dont fill up more than half the glass.
