Xpro Atc Throttle Tubes? Do They Work?

Featured Replies

The speed of a throttle tube has no correlation to a flywheel weight. I would try the two together! Not the first idea on this, but a fine looking product.

Had a flywheel weight and had the white throttle tube, Put on the XPRO # 1 liked it, then took of the weight, its nice to ride now still has way more power than I will ever use but its nice to no its there if needed lol, talked to the guys at Splatshop great to deal with ,at over 50 and still loving it

Cheers Wakka

If its a slower action off the bottom you're after and already have a fast action (white tube) throttle then try this...

Put 2 hacksaw blades together in a hacksaw frame and carefully from where the throttle cable starts, hacksaw down around 3mm and gradually lead the cut out to around 45 degrees from the cable anchor and then clean up with a small file / emery tape. The deeper you cut the slower the take up will be but you still have the fast action diameter when you open it right up. This mod makes the bike more manageable off the bottom. Do this little by little until you acheive the desired result.

For the price of the XPRO you could have 3 tubes all cut for different trials conditions. The XPRO's look nicely engineered but the biggest problem is you are buying blind and £25 + p+p is a lot for something you may not like and can't return.

Cheers...

Hi, Joe ninety has a great idea here and it does work and will save you a few quid if you want to slow the throttle down.

I'm the opposite and have used the X pro ultra fast tube for about 3 years now but I have restricted movement in my wrist when hanging right off the back. They are super quality, I've had my on on the 4th bike now and there is little wear.

There's a cheap flywheel weight on that auction site at the moment, It's the S3 one so it's not a heavy weight.

Great replys guys  I was wanting to have good bottom end power for steep hill climbs as recently I was out on a trial with mates and had a steep hill climb to do and my bike lost traction because it was wet ground but my mate saild past me on low rev up the steep wet hill, he said after that he had the fly wheel wait on which gave the bike better grip? is this right? I am not too worried about taming the power down as full power is a good thing and doesnt bother me at all, might look into the hack saw two bladed thing more! seems like a cool idea

Just tried Joe90s method works very well and only takes 1/2 hour
