October 20, 201411 yr Hi guys. As above in the title. I recently replaced the throttle cable on my 2004 beta rev 3 250 and now it wont start. Before i changed to throttle cable it started first kick everytime. If anyone can help. It will be much appreciated
October 20, 201411 yr you have to of disturbed something or put something together wrong poss needle not in correctly ,does throttle feel ok ,, if so check spark
October 20, 201411 yr Author Put everything back as it was. Throttle feels fine. Got it started once after messing with throttle adjustment but died after taking choke off and wont start again now. Could be something simple like not enough fuel in the tank lol. Will check that later when i get some 2 stroke. Thanks for the reply
October 20, 201411 yr died after taking choke off and wont start again now. This sounds like blocked pilot jet. It'll run on choke, but as soon as it's closed it can't draw fuel up the pilot jet due to the blockage so stalls. Clean the carb (and jets) out and try again.
October 20, 201411 yr You have the slide in wrong or the wrong cable. You should be able to hear the slide hit bottom when released from full throttle. Good luck.
October 21, 201411 yr Hearing it hit bottom IS important! A must! If you have anything out of place you need to check, cause it is like trying to start the bike with the throttle open.
