Montesa 315 Poor Front Brake

Featured Replies

I have 2000 315 mont, iv already changed the caliper got the newer ajp one, put front brake is terrible, iv bled the system through and checked caliper pistons, all ok.

So im thinking the issue may be with the grimeca master cylinder? Any tips or am i wasting my time with this old style master cylinder?

I would first try some quality brake pads, I had a simular problem with my Gas Gas and a change of pads did the trick.

Had a 98 Cota with a Grimeca master cylinder which, after changing everything else first, turned out to be ineffective.

As 2stroke4stroke has said get the disc hot and pour water on the disc, brake will then bite really well

I have had two pre four pot monts and both had problem. The other way is fit the four pot caliper.

Walkertrials, what would you call quality pads?

I used to love Brembo pads, but can't seem to get them now. I've also found Goldfren don't work well when they get muddy or wet, which is quite often in the south.
