How is this activated? Do I have to restart the bike or can it be done on the fly.

    Just switch back and forth as you wish on the move. You can test the switch with a multimeter, Its just an off/on switch (open or close).

    It doesn't do alot that you will instantly notice a difference.

    Do a search for map or mapping switch and you will find more info.
