My misses has just bought her first trials bike and riding it for fun ..

Questions are what gear oil and how much?

And what premix ratio ?

Premix between 1:80 and 1:100 depending on what kind of riding you are doing, your country, etc.

 

Gear oil for old type recommended is 5w30 engine oil. (for wet clutch motorcycles). I think around 650 (for the heavier engines). I think it is somewhere on the case.

I've used a pre-mix of 50:1 for 20 years on GG.

Use an ATF rated to Dexron III for the gearbox, 600 ml is fine.

The gasgas 125 and a Beta 250 techno I've just bought will only be used for bimbling around in the woods No competition use ..

I was trying to get away with running the pair of them on same premix and engine oil , just to make life easier

Make sure you have permission to ride in the woods. Illegal off road riding is killing our sport and land at the moment.
