September 10, 201510 yr Hi all, I've trawled the posts but cant find an answer so hear goes....... Montesa 315r 2002 showa forks. (put putoline fork oil 4 in to soften it up a bit) Just serviced mine (oil,bushes,seals) I want to know the following for initial set up please ie, number of turns ?..... 1.....Lower leg valve ? 2.....Upper leg thumb screw (purple/blue in colour) ? 3.....Big allen key adjuster (pre-load) ? Its just a start off setting I require then will see how it goes. Also any tips on getting the forks really parallel with each other in the triple clamps ? Thanks in advance, Craig.
September 11, 201510 yr someone will probably know, and I bet they're not a million miles off using the current showa fork settings. The settings should be listed in the workshop manual, easy enough to pick them up off ebay.
September 12, 201510 yr Best way to get the forks just so is to remove the pinch bolts if they protrude then place a piece of glass (an almost guaranteed flat surface) across the yokes. It should touch in all four spots, adjust if not. No need to cut a pane out the greenhouse - you may have a glass cutting board in the kitchen, the purpose of a kitchen of course being to provide a facility for various trials related activities. Surely we all managed to spill molten Linklyfe on our mother's kitchen floor?
