December 15, 201510 yr Hi, Has anyone tried the Stylmartin impact evo trials boot? I've pretty much trashed my alpinestars, the sole has come away from the boot. I'm thinking about getting a pair of oiled Gaernes next, but wanted to ask if anyone has tried the stylmartin ones? thanks
December 16, 201510 yr Hey Mate - I wore oiled Gaernes for a number of years - probably one of the most comfy boots I've ever worn but... they are a bit shorter then most and I coped a number of peg wacks between the top of the boot and knee. Probably my 'riding style but worth noting'. cheers
December 16, 201510 yr Author Thanks Paulmac, I wear knee guards that cover that boot to knee area, they have helped prevent quite a few bruises and have saved a knee when I landed on a tree trunk. They have also helped with whacking myself on the pegs. I don't want another pair of alpinestars, I want something that is easy to apply dubbing to and look after.
December 16, 201510 yr The brown Stylmartin's are very good, really comfy from day one and they have a better sole than the Alpinestars
December 17, 201510 yr Author The brown Stylmartin's are very good, really comfy from day one and they have a better sole than the Alpinestars thanks. Have you had a pair of gaernes? How would they compare to the stylmartins?
December 17, 201510 yr Author Gone with the stylmartins, they look like they offer a bit more protection. I tend to catch my feet a lot, we'll see how they go
December 18, 201510 yr They seem to do well for Emma Bristow . Let us know how they work out... My Hebo boots will need replacing one of these days and I do like the look of the Stylemartin. The new Hebo boots with the fancy tensioner might be worth a look at as well.
December 18, 201510 yr I've had Gaerne's for many years and recently some Alpinestars and they seem to be just as good. Very comfy from day one and keep their shape well after being washed.
