I made a wheel bearing removal tool today, based on the Jitsie model, out of Jatoba wood. It has a janka hardness of 2,350 - 2,600. That is extremely hard wood. No pun intended. It dulled every one of my lathe knives to get it done. Cost me $5,50 and 1 hour of time. Jitsie’s is $60. This’ll work on 6004 2RS bearings (20 x 42 x 12) with a center spacer.

New boot day😁 forma boulder comp,size 45 first impressions are they are a lovely boot nice fit should break in nicely i bought these as I can’t feel a thing with my x-power mx boots,obviously not as protective but as far as trials boots go they seem really sturdy.

Just seeing what everybody uses for jacket whilst riding, I’m looking at the jitsie glow jacket at the moment, sounds like a good jacket windproof, waterproof, also has a hood so use whilst out and about. Just after some advice. It’s not the cheapest but only the same as a walking jacket big brands.

Hello, im getting back into the sport, and need a new helmet. When I did trials about 15 years ago I used a shoei tr trials helmet, and it was great, quality design vents that worked etc. Unfortunately I put it on the end of my handlebars when checking out a section, the bike fell off its stand and punched a neat handlebar sized hole through the shell. Anyway my budget wont stretch to another shoei, so ive been looking at the airohs.They look like kryten from red dwarf designed them, but you cant have everythiing I have a few questions for you. Hi everyone😁 are there any trials pants which have knee and hip armour or pockets to add your own? ithe hebo tech 2025 look good with there level 11 knee armour but no hip armour as far as know. basically im looking at a very lightweight summer pants to do my local green lanes and trials practicing. cheers in advance👍👍

I very rarely ride sections where my car is parked 20 yards away but more trail riding where my car is miles away and I’m just wondering what others, who ride similarly, take along with them. The things I take are carried in a backpack and include basic tools (sockets, Torx sockets, screw bits, pliers, spark p. wrench), spark plug, first aid, phone, tire pencil gauge, extra air filter, tire sealant, extra fuel, small flashlight, silicone tape, wire, zip ties, 2 chain quick links, and water. I don’t carry tire irons because I’ve had very good luck with sealants. I’m also not interested in clothing because that changes with the seasons but I’m wondering if I’m missing anyth…

Say you were just getting started in Trials (me), but also did adventure trips in the summer. Hi everyone, I've just bought my son a trials bike to start riding & he's asked me to get one so we can go to some practice days together. I was involved in a motorcycle crash some years ago which has left me disabled. My right arm is locked at 90 degrees on the elbow so I cannot straighten one of my arms. I know the boat has sailed for competing but I would like to potter around. I was wondering if anyone knows if anyone does any disabled handlebars or some kind of adaptations to help. Thanks Simon

Anybody have recommendations for something light that protects your ribs some but doesn't cook you? Had a good one yesterday, high sided my TRS onto a parked GasGas solid bar end and a Sherco serrated foot peg. Tired of busting ribs.

I'm a big heavy dude with an active job, so I have quite huge calves. The A-stars Tech T's I tried out when buying my bike weren't even close to closing. I found a couple older threads about this topic, but thought I'd ask around in case there's any new models. Right now it looks like Gaerne Balances with the adjustable strap lugs are my best bet, any other models I should look into?

Anyone know of any vegan friendly trials boots .. I'm struggling .. Thought maybe Gaerne Balance Classics made from Lorica but not sure Thanks Steve

Just wondering; opinions/advice on best Carhartt style work pants for trials riding; with mountain bike type knee pads worn underneath and should they and can they be worn in or over trials boots?

Is the weight of a helmet significant in trials? A lot of helmet descriptions on the supplier websites seem to make a big thing of it, but I can't see it being the most crucial factor. Fair enough if you race a car and the g-force is trying to rip your head off, but not on a bike going at a walking pace, surely. As an example the Hebo Zone 4 weights 900g, and plenty of others weigh about 950g. But the Hebo 5 with built-in visor weighs 1200g. Trouble is, I quite like the idea of a built-in visor for protecting my eyes between sections.

I am slowly planning on my trial riding gear. Now, one thing I've noticed is that there is not much storage provided in most of the riding apparel (pants/ jerseys). I am used to having plethora of pockets in my ADV riding jacket I don't plan to carry a lot of stuff with me, but some essentials ( phone / wallet / car keys ). How do you carry stuff like this while trial riding? Bum bags ( waist packs / fanny packs ), back packs? Which of those do you find convenient?

I have wanted a boot dryer for ages. There are dozens of different sorts online but the only ones that possibly appealed to me were very expensive, and I still couldn't be sure they would be right when they arrived. So finally I made my own, which saved some money, exactly fits my requirements and it was satisfying to make something rather than just flashing my card. The hair dryer was under £10 from Argos and I'm running it on low setting. The rest is 40mm waste pipe.
