I picked up a neat Evo 290 on the weekend ( will be getting a slow throttle for it). The previous owner says it is a 2009 model, but it has a black frame and plastics which would indicate it is a 2011 model. Can anyone confirm what it is for me please? image is attached

Model range here  but could have had frame changed because 2009 frame used to crack and the rad filler comes out of the side of the frame.2010 on came out central front between the front frame rails.http://www.betausa.com/node/751

Thanks Bilks. The wheels and radiators leading me to believe it is a 2009 model

The rear wheel is the earlier 2009/10 type, also the rad filler as Bilks said. I know the rear subframe mounts also changed on later models and this looks like the single bolt early type

Is the fuel filler slightly offset to the leaft,and radiator filler placed where your leaft knee will smack it!!! 2009

I had an early 09, the petrol filler was offset to the left. A friend bought a late 09 and his had a bare aluminium frame with the filler mounted vertically.

Your frame could have be an 09 that has been coated

check chassis number against range in the 09/11 parts manuals

 Could be a 9 with a newer frame as the nine had issues.

Got hold of the importer. He confirms it is an '09. Thanks for the help
