October 15, 200520 yr at the moment im riding beta 200 04 which im getting to like but i keep looking at the 4rt which has got to be the dream bike .anyone done a similar change ,weight? maintanance? running costs? ,come on convince me to buy the mont!!

October 16, 200520 yr Author THERES SOMETHING I READ ON A US MONTESA FORUM ABOUT MIXING PUMP PETROL 50/50 WITH RACING FUEL AND IF YOU JUST USE PUMP PETROL THE ENGINE WILL KNOCK ,ANYONE NOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS.
October 16, 200520 yr we use proper fuel here ,with a higher octane rating so ignore it!! 10months riding no problems
October 17, 200520 yr The 50/50 mix mentioned on the US Montesa site refers to the 315 as part of the preparation of a pre-mix for two strokes. Obviously this is not a requirement for the 4RT.
October 20, 200520 yr using 87 pump at the moment, no knocks,have not noticed any drop in performance. Always starts 1st kick,runs perfect hot or cold.
October 21, 200520 yr had a 315 before the 4rt, hated the knocking and pinging ... all the monty's I ride with put 50/50 aviation gas and 91 octane ...cleared up the pinging and made a power monster out of it!! am running av gas in 4rt....runs sweet everywhere, more power. but noticed more of a difference with the two stroke .....................mass
