Has anyone got a good way to wire in some heated grips for the Scottish that doesn't involve cutting into the loom, I used the headlamp feed last year but they didn't work properly they'd get warm but not hot, any info would be great and pictures would be even better.

I would look up the output of your ACG. It may be it does not have sufficient power to get the grips hot.

You could buy a 12v Lithium battery. They weigh nothing and could be strapped to somewhere convenient (best of luck with finding that place though).

I'm awake at 2:20am talking lithium batteries.....oh dear!

I think the power is the problem. I can imagine (all the people lalal ) they take like 50W or something, which is quite much for a small bike with little lights etc.

 

There are also gloves, with a battery to put in a pocket or bag, however I dont think there are any mx/trial like gloves.

I'm pretty sure the alternator output is 160w.  Without lights there should be plenty to spare.  ECU and fuel pump should only need about 20w.  Not sure about the fan but probably another 30w or so.  If you're running the homologated headlight then that could be 35w plus tail light etc.

 

I would not see another reason why the headlamp wiring would not work. Or the grips are just crappy.
