Help Needed With Jtr 160

Featured Replies

Hi, I have just picked up a 1996 jtr 160 to have ago at some trial riding. The bike seems great but I can find any info or parts suppliers for this model?

Can anyone help? Service information would be a great help. What fuel mix to run, what oil to use in the gearbox and how much, fork oil and quantity ect.

Thanks for any help

Thanks for the info and videos, after looking over my bike ice noticeable rear shock is leaking, can anyone recommend and supplier for a rebuild kit that will post to the UK?

Do they use the same shock on various models?

I can rebuild and charge it with nitrogen myself, I just can't find a rebuild kit for it.

Shocks have been changed from time to time my bud has a 96? contact 250 and I have a 01 txt 280 both have different shocks. My shock is a sealed unit I assume yours is the same. I think Splat has someone that mods them to make them rebuildabl

Does anyone know if the air filter in the jtr 160 is the same as other models as again I can't find one specific for the 160?

Thanks for the explanation Jim, I have a 96 air box. And I will have a look at similar size engine air filters

Jim snell, going back a few posts in your video on gearbox oil you recommend 5w30, do you mean motorcycle 4T oil or car engine oil? And do you recommend any particular brand?
