I found a new old stock exhaust head pipe to replace the rusted out one,  great!  The new one has a restricter welded in the cylinder end (Honda),   the old one did not.  Please educate me.  thanks

I had a 2002 315, great bike, kept it for eight years and now wish I had not sold it.  They came new with two restrictors, one where your new one is which almost everyone removed and one in the rear of the first silencer which some removed and some left in according to preference, I removed this one as well as the power then suited me much better. Has it got restrictors in the exhaust too ? 

 

Further to this is the silencer on my bike got a bend in the inner waffle pipe that restricts the bike a bit, someone has mentioned to me that if it has replace it with a straight one to help gas flow

I put a home made straight pipe in my 315R but I can't say I noticed much difference.

 

Mitani sels longer silencers with a straight inner pipe, maybe these ones perform better:
