4rt 259 cc insurance

Featured Replies

Hi

anybody insured the post 2014 259cc 4rts for road use with a normal insurance company.  Only seem to recognise the 249cc versions.

No, but a tip that works for me is to just give them the bike's reg number when they ask the make & model

That way they just punch the reg number in and hey presto they come up with whatever DVLA say it is and they say fine, without a problem

Nowadays I never say it's a Raga/Majesty/ossa MAR thingymajig because you are talking to a call centre operator who hasn't a clue

Give them a reg number and they can't argue

Trouble is they seem to have there own data base and on that 4rts are 249cc.

Have been on line a called a couple.

Trouble is if there is a discrepancy they will void a claim.

Mines a 250....but quoting the reg on loads of bikes - some obscure works for me

all linked to. DVLA database

if you want bizarre in 1986 the dvla reclassified all 747cc austin cars as 858cc and will not change for anybody.. who are you to argue whether its 240 or 300cc the dvla have accepted from the manufacturer the cc when registered so what ever they say it is goes.. so do as suggested above just say the reg no.

Just used a comparison website (the one with the annoying opera singer) the 2014 onwards 259cc is listed under Honda Montesa
