February 15, 20179 yr Just taken the cover off to change oil filter on my sons 07 4rt and somebody has fitted a weight by welding it on!!! The casing has been ground to allow clearance and the pick up mounting holes lengthened for same reason. Any of you wise guys n gals know or heard of such a mod???
February 15, 20179 yr Author Its definitely more docile on the throttle response, still crisp but not snappy, but more noticeable when rolling off the throttle,it rolls on as well as my 260.. Its 11oz heavier than my stock 260 flywheel. Whoever did the work obviously knows their onions , its very neatly done. Hopefully someone on here can throw some light on it.

February 15, 20179 yr Maybe a john bliss mod or Martin Willmore. I have heard somebody talk about this type of mod - not sure wether on tc or at local events. i think old school mod as ptb mapping is less involved!!
February 15, 20179 yr Author I would agree James it certainly took whoever did the work a fair amount of time and effort, the 07 doesn't have a ptb and maybe at the time the mod was done a ptb was an expensive option??

The weight is a band of steel the full depth/width of the flywheel approx. 2-5mm thick with holes in it (I'm guessing to balance it). The welds are equally spaced and exactly the same length on the outer face as you look at it fitted..
