May 14, 20179 yr Hi All.....i,m new to this site just got myself a montesa 349 1980 which apparentely had been stood for while. After a bit of messing about i have got it running One problem i have noticed is what seems like clutch judder when setting off in second or changing gear at low revs.Also where would i get some rear suspension bushes . One more problem whats the best way to clean old sludgey oil from the bottom of an alloy tank.....Any help would be appreciated Edited May 14, 20179 yr by dave good
May 15, 20179 yr Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222508737248 In Motion do the swinging arm bushes. Not cheap though. Wash the sludge out with petrol Drain and change oil in clutch before going deeper for clutch judder.
May 15, 20179 yr 349s have all steel clutch plates so are sensitive to the quality of the oil film between the plates as they come together. Lack of oil, oil of too low a viscosity, oil with water in it or the plates being too hot can all cause it to judder/shriek as it engages under load.
