Hi!

I have a 1998 290 Easy.

I love the bike but the gear is very notchy and the clutch drags badly, especially when cold.

Anyone knows what type of oil or what oil viscosity should I use for better clutch and gear action ?

I understand that only three out of the five clutch spring are used in this bike. Would adding the missing two springs in the pressure plate have any negative effects on a bike that is used solely for trail riding ?

Dextron 111 ATF works very well with the easy clutch. It is important to only use 450cc and the clutch should not drag if everything is within specs.
