JTX250 Kickstart broken!

Featured Replies

Out with my nephew at the weekend on JTX250 and JTR370 and he managed to break the kickstart lever on the 250 before we'd started.Luckily it starts well and we carried on by kicking what was left of the lever to start it.Does anyone know of breakers who may have parts for these older bikes ? No joy on ebay and most of the levers for sale on-line are for the TXT pro type. The levers are the same on the JTX and JTR.Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for that, i'll give them a ring.

Any chance of going to your local blacksmith and getting it welded

it's broken on the corner between the horizontal "pedal" part and the thicker part of the lever.Nephew works for engineering company so probably has a tame ally welder but i'm not sure it would last ( he probably doesn't want another broken kickstart jabbing him in the leg again either!).Have contacted Richard Allen as per Bilks' suggestion, he away for the weekend but thinks he may have one.
