Testing ignition coil

Featured Replies

Hi all. Does anyone know how to test an ignition coil on a gas gas 125.

I have watched how it is done on you tube, and they state that you should get a reading of about 2 to 5 ohms on the primary side of the coil. On mine I get 0 ohms. So I bought a new coil and that gives the same reading.

The coil is quite small so is that normal.

Hi all just bought a new digital multimeter, and it shows that I have 0.4 ohms on the primary side, and about 6000 ohms on the secondary side.

I have just wastched a video on you tube and it showed my type of coil and it gave much the same results, so all looks ok with my coil.
