Thanks for your input chaps much appreciated ?

I have Gaerne balance oiled and they are Awesome boots...water resistant too. Also have a pair of Sid Zero, which are another Great boot...but not h20 resistant at all.

Gaerne Balance Oiled was my choice when buying and I don't regret. I was impressed. These boots are very high quality with really nice leather. Really comfortable. After 1 year use (around 100 practices) I had soles with 1 or 2 holes in place where it meets pegs most often. Treated with shoe-goo and it's back to original state. Very happy with mine.

If you have sensitive feet the soles are not as supportive as some of the other brands.  Otherwise top notch boots.

The new style martin boots are also a good choice along  side the gaernes . please feel free to contact kyle @ Rock2rockoffroad for further information

Have used Gaerne for a long time but over this period have become less and less durable and less and less protective  and more and more expensive.

I bought a pair of sidi boots last year and find them excellent quality, durability and very good suppport. Maybe not 100% waterproof but after a while npn are and I find skin pretty waterproof. With good socks even wet feet soon warm up- wet suit principal .

Gaerne Balanced Oiled are great and the Alpine stars Tech are excellent too. The Gaernes are a bit more like slippers, the AS seem to offer more protection.
