December 23, 20178 yr So I picked up a pretty beat up 2013 gas gas txt 300 raga replica on Craigslist. It had a lot broken on it but ran, although very rich. I confused the idle screw and the air fuel screw, and turned the idle screw a few times counter clockwise to try and lean it up. I realized the error, but lost track of how many times I turned the idle screw. The air fuel mix was at half turn, so I turned it to 1.5 out which is the default, but the idle is still hanging really high and the idle screw doesn’t seem to have much effect. I don’t really know what to do, is there a default idle rpm or position for the idle adjust? Could something have gotten stuck when I turned the idle adjust? Any help would be great! December 23, 20178 yr I would suggest a complete strip down and overhaul of the carb and air filter. If it is fitted with the 'Keihen' (not sure of the spelling) carb get the jets and settings checked out as it may have been played with depending on where the bike was being used and by whom.
December 23, 20178 yr Is the slide returning to the bottom completely,you should hear it if so.If the slides going down enough to close off the airflow it must be drawing air in from somewhere.As suggested check the carb over,or maybe borrow another one
December 23, 20178 yr Could be something as simple as a blocked pilot jet, but the Keihin is known to behave badly.
