Any tip for cleaning a  titanium  down pipe

brown stuff is baked on 

 

 

 

Scotch brite (grey) and water works great for me, although some may be aghast at such a suggestion.

I should probably add that this works with my titanium 2T exhaust, the hotter 4T exhaust may cause it to burn on extra hard

As above, or the pan sponge from the kitchen sink.

I see a debate here about whose exhaust runs hottest 2T or 4T?

4rt with  titanium downpipe hold it about 1000 rpm higher than tick over

 

then light a cigarette of it (red hot) 

No need for a re-bore

I have most of the brown stuff off

I found alloy wheel cleaner and green washing up pads to be the most effective

But still not great

I use Harpic Power Plus toilet cleaner...

Heard about it years ago, and was very sceptical... but gave it a go... bloody magic! Paint it on... wiggle it about with a brush, leave for 5 mins - hose off. Exhaust looks like new!

Used on Akrapovic titanium headers, no drama.

I'll second the Harpic - returns stainless to silver when it discolours to brown. Saves hours with Solvol.
