July 30, 20188 yr Hi all purchased a regulator could you tell me if the yellow wire need power to it please there is 5 in total two for the fan two for the thermostat and one left YELLOW ? Is it for the front light or should a wire be connected I took the old part off today yellow wasn’t connected fan won’t work unless I put battery on it fitted new part still won’t work even bypassing the thermostat doesn’t help kind regards Edited July 30, 20188 yr by Gazbee123 More info
July 30, 20188 yr I believe the yellow wire is the ac feed from the stator. I assume the ground lug is the other side of the ac feed so it needs to be bolted to the frame. Edited July 30, 20188 yr by dan williams
July 30, 20188 yr Author Hi thanks for the reply so the regulator bolts to the frame to act as an earth I’ve done that .. and the yellow wire in the picture is connected to the stator wire to give live feed to the regulator ? Edited July 30, 20188 yr by Gazbee123 More info
July 30, 20188 yr That would be my guess. Of course without a schematic I could be wrong but it seems the only way the thing could work if you are correct about the other connectors.
July 30, 20188 yr Author Hi yes other wires go to the fan and the thermostat the yellow is just left there hanging I will connect it tomorrow then bypass the thermostat and see if fan comes on . Thanks
July 31, 20188 yr You guys are correct yellow and tab mount AC in / white connector to the fan / grey connector to the t-stat switch
July 31, 20188 yr Interesting, I just had my daughters Beta 80 apart for some tests of the fan and see this post. It was connected just as Reggie says... yellow is connected and earth grounded on the tab, the others two went to the fan and t-stat.
