September 23, 20187 yr I am considering buying a Suzuki RL250 which has a Whitehawk frame. The bike is not registered. There are no numbers on the frame and I must be able to road register this bike in order to use it on road trials. There must be quite a few Whitehawk framed bikes out there and some must be registered. Can anyone give me a steer on what I need to do.
September 23, 20187 yr The original frame numbers on RL 250s were just a dymo tape. I doubt whether a number you chose to use could be challenged with evidence that it was not correct.
September 23, 20187 yr Most bikes are checked with a visit when registering now by a firm called SGS on behalf of the DVLA. They check frame & engine number and make sure the bike is original. If no clear and visable numbers they won't accept. Edited September 24, 20187 yr by gasserguy
September 24, 20187 yr I know about the dymo tape but think this was early models. I had a 1980 black engine and the number was by the left foot rest bracket.
