February 15, 20206 yr Looking for some advice new to trials and bikes.. Gear box sight glass has white oil (full) on checking my fluids the radiator was empty guessing it's mixed somehow is there an obvious place to start looking thanks in advance. Only had the bike 4 days
February 15, 20206 yr Water pump shaft seal... it’s a lip seal that wears and also the actual shaft also wears where the seal runs on the shaft.
February 16, 20206 yr Of course refill with new gearbox oil, but be sure to run it until warm, dump that oil and fill with new. That will help get rid of any residual coolant in the gearbox.
February 16, 20206 yr You can get a water pump repair kit from your local GG dealer or, for more money a complete water pump. Drain the oil as soon as you can, it has mixed with water, the water causes the fibres on the clutch plates to swell creating more problems for you. Perhaps flush out the residual oil with 400ml of ATF rated to Dexron III then dump that and refill again with the same oil and quantity. Other riders use different types of oil but, ATF Dex III has been fine for all my bikes for over 25 years, and it's not expensive! Bye, Peter B.
