Beta Zero 1990-1993 model line Thread

Featured Replies

Mine is 1992 Beta Zero 260, I just want to share tips and specs to aid in set up of the Jordi Tarres signature replica, Steve Colley special! Winner of the SSDT with Steve Colley.

My Water pump is fine and I use nonaqueous Evans Motosport Coolant (in all my bikes)

I bypassed the the thermostat head switch and wired in a manual fan switch onto the bars, which I basically leave on all the time (SoCal temps)

My Trials skill level is minimal. I have CST Legion Trials tires on it (cheap stuff), my Offroad/Enduro level is 50+ Expert/A, I am usually a top 10% finisher in that class. My main machine is 2017 Husqvarna TX300.

Has the Mikuni VM26 carbby jetted per some former top tier Beta dealers here in the US. I will add that later for info sharing. It seems to run well, maybe there is is better.

10/40 is final drive , but I just ordered the smallest 9 tooth front sprocket, to get less chug/chain lash in first gear. So I will try 9/40.

My Motoplat ignition was Inop/no spark so I sent the components from here in San Diego Ca. to Bradford Ignitions in Cornwall UK. They fixed it with their rebuild and it was well worth it. I highly recommend them for Motoplat repairs! The ignition is perfect now.
