June 6, 20206 yr Hi my beta the uther day I was out riding I noticed it getting realy hot but didnt noticed the fan working so I left it a bit came back to starting it and it just revved out wouldn't shut off with kill switch but now it seems fine could it of revved up like that because it over heated?
June 7, 20206 yr Maybe sucking in air? Or the throttle cable had dislodged? Was the smoke.from exhaust overly white or did it stink as if it was burning gearbox oil?
June 7, 20206 yr Author The smoke looked fine from the exhaust and yeah someone else also said could it be drawing air and the throttle is nice and feels nice to use and free I was just hoping many some how it's over heated and not liked it and revved up when it's got so hot as I noticed the fan not working but I started it afew days after not for long but it seemed all fine but I dont know if I dair take it out for the day to see what it's like or if that's a bad idea?
June 9, 20206 yr If you’re concerned about damage from overheating, take off the exhaust front pipe and look up the port at the piston. If it has nipped you’ll see scoring on the piston skirt. To be even more thorough take off the head to check the piston crown, ring land and the sealing of the head gasket. However I can’t see how overheating could make the revs run away.
June 10, 20206 yr Author Hi yeah I dont know enough about them to know if overheating can some how course it I noticed the slider in the carb was abit mucky maby that's jammed open I've cleaned it all out
