August 24, 20206 yr Hi having done rev3 sherco and gas gas before I thought I'd tackle the forkseal in 2018 factory 250. Icant get the allen key to stop spinning in one leg I'm guessing I need a tool to hold nut in tube. And other leg has red anodized nut and dont want to bugger it up. Any advise welcome thanks in advance.
August 24, 20206 yr Give it a wee whiz up with an impact gun until it bites then torque it up manually but go easy
August 25, 20206 yr Author its to get the forks apart I should have mentioned that. I did try a cordless impact gun on the allen bolt and that just spun. Previously that's worked fine on other sets of forks. Itsas if it needs some sort of tubular spanner to go down the forks.
August 26, 20206 yr Use a tie down strap or similar to compress the spring (in the stanchion) then try to release the bottom bolt. if that wont do it, its possible using a torch to peer down to the bottom and with a suitable length of extension bars fitted with a socket to suit what you see in the bottom, normally a bolt head. Hope you get it done.
August 27, 20205 yr There's some fundamental internal difference in the Sachs manufactured Paioli design. I tried to get the screw off mine and ran into the same issue. Finally got it to tighten up again and called it a day.
August 30, 20205 yr Author Sorted now managed to get an alloy bar to lock internals, came sort straight away. Thanks for all the advice
