The black ones....made of a rubbery substance. Think you’ll find its a toss up between Michelin or IRC each to their own.

In order of preference not value/cost.

  1. Michelin X11
  2. Dunlop 803gp
  3. Michelin X lite

I actually like the X lite just a bit more when grip is the primary consideration but I find I get flats on sharp stuff or when puncture weeds (goat heads) are around and the Dunlop's do better against them than the X lite.

Haven't tried the IRC's so can't comment on them.

Thanks Iv got Michelin on at the min  but it’s time to renew

the best one are the new one.

Many have had issues trying to keep air in the tire on the newer flanged rear rims with the less popular brands...stick with Michelin or Dunlop on newer bikes

The best ones, are the ones I get for free

failing that, Michelin's and new type Dunlop's work well

Carnt beat free ones

if you are riding a lot on mud (we do down here) then its proably like a 50:50 split IRC to michelin (Dunlop aren't really seen much down here)

if you are on rock (i infer you are) then it seams to be a split between Dunlop and Michelin

the x-llight save weight but for most riders thats not an issue

if you are really tight then the pirelli is cheaper (much more hard wearing for road work) and then there are cheaper ones still (vee rubber, cheng shing, etc, etc)

I have one to give away, so it's free. I can assure you it's not the best one.
