Montesa Enduro H6 Kickstart Seal

Featured Replies

Hi All

My 79 Montesa 250 Enduro H6 is leaking oil from the kick starter. I have found the part number for the seal, but not sure how to replace it? Do I need to just take the side cover off, or split the whole main case?

TIA

Hi,

On a 348 engine, which is probably similiar in design the kick start shaft seal is  the only one where you have to split the engine to replace it.

I know this as I rebuilt my 348 engine and forgot to replace it so had to split the engine again!!

Cheers

Guy

Thanks Guy. That's what I thought. Found another issue.. should I just patch it or replace it? I'm wanting to patch it, even if I get 5 years out of it.

This is the hole in my engine case caused from the kickstarted . As you can see, it has been patched before..

Yes that's also common, mine had the same hole wondered why it miss fired when wet...

I patched mine with JB weld and I've had no further problems.
