whats the best way to start a 348 with a decompressor on it.I am strugling to get the hang of it.

Thanks in advance,Chud

I've used one, on and off, I am 100kgs at 6'4", so my method may be a bit different to yours, but a couple of blips of the throttle, pre-kicking then leave it alone. Tweek kickstart to TDC and then one good firm, kick down at a fairly good pace, not slow!

give it a go.....

Similar to what Jonboy883 has said, when cold, I kick it through slowly, two or three times, to kind of prime it. Then give it about 1/4 throttle, get it on compression with the kickstart, and then come down hard and swift. Usually takes two or three kicks like this and it's running. Fast and hard kicks are the secret. You can't baby it.

Push it to compression with the kickstart, ease it over compression using the decompressor then a hefty kick, remembering to use the footrest as a stop for your foot. Or the lug on the kickstart (inside the housing) will punch a hole thru to the magneto/points ?

As previously said, be firm and positive or you may find your knee cap embedded in the renthals.

I have the much unwanted t shirt, several times !
