fatboyty175
hi can anyone help ive just painted my cilinder head with heat proof engine paint and it seamed to be smoking off the cilinder head cover but iv had it all to pieces and just put the petrol tank back on so i was wandering if it was that and it seames top be running very fast could it be because the engine is dry thanks
jackman
I did the same, and the exhaust too... It just smokes a little the first time you run it because it's baking on. If the bike is running very fast you can adjust the idle on the carb. If adjusting it doesn't do anything, you've probably got dirt (even if it's a tiny tiny spec) in the carb. Take it appart (carefully! Be sure it goes back the exact same way) and clean it out. Does this help?? Good Luck

kevin j
If you had the head off, is the cable stretched a bit? Back out the idle speed adjuster, largest screw on the carb, then open and close the throttle with engine off. Should should feel and hear the click as the slide hits the stop. If you don't,it's not going all the wqay down, maybe being held up by the cable housing pulled up slightly. kcj
