beta electric minitrial 20xl

Featured Replies

Hi, wonder if someone can help me.

We have a problem in the electric motor of our Beta 20xl electric minitrial. Our Beta supplier here cannot help me at the moment.

Does anyone know if you can by parts for the electric motor (Doga 1350w 48v) or you have to buy it complete? I managed to contact Doga which are the suppliers of the motor to Beta but they need the part number which I cannot give them since the sticker on the motor came off.

Their part number is different from Beta's.

Thank you in advance.

Its the same motor that's fitted to the Mecatecno T14 and the new TRS, I think. My grandson has had a T14 for 3 to 4 years now with minimal support from Mecatecno and certainly no help from Doga. I've learnt to solve the problems myself which vary from simple bearings, to magnets coming unstuck from the casing. In one case that resulted in damaged windings. If you remove the drive side casing of the motor you'll be able to see if its a displaced magnet and also check that bearing.  Paul Nash in UK may still have contact with Mecatecno, 07973 358408,  01621743443, he took over the dealership a couple of years ago, he may even have some parts or damaged motors.  I got a damaged motor from him last year and managed to combine parts with one I had and that's still running a good 9 months later.  A TRS dealer may also be able to help.

Hi, thanks for your help. We do have a TRS dealer here in Malta. Doga did try to help but I cannot find their part number. I got in touch with them to see if they can supply me with parts.

Thanks again

Just a thought. Doga will only supply Beta with one type of 48v 1350w motor. If they wanted to help they could easily find the part number.  This was the problem I had with them, delaying tactics because the volume is small.

Yes that did cross my mind, but what can you do? Beta just informed me that they do not supply parts for it and can only be bought new.

In case it helps anyone I’m just replacing bearings in the same motor on my sons TRS 20 and the Doga part no of the 48v 1350w motor is 32190235009.

i think the main issue is crap bearings and seal. I’ve just ordered a decent 19x12x3mm seal and SKF rubber sealed bearings (6001Z  which is 12mm inner, 28mm outer and 8mm wide) from simply bearings which will hopefully be much better.

It's worth bearing in mind that bearings and seals are a "commodity". Whatever the application and bike manufacturer, if the OE bits are cheap Chinese junk (see the pun?), you can always go to a bearing specialist and buy SKF or some other reputable product.

Can you please share link where you buy 19x12x3mm seal or part number?

They just told you; go to your closest bearing supply store and show them what you need.  Bearings are their business and what you are looking for is nothing special.

Google 12x19x3mm rotary seal and you will find a supplier.

hi,

has anyone find new carbon brushes for the doga engine? must be something like 7 x 7.3 x ?

Can´t find anything matching.

For Info, i like the engine, having it in 3 kids- bikes. But Spareparts are hard to find.

Walk them into your most local shop that rebuilds starter motors and alternators, they can't be that special.

... in a pinch if you found something close but too fat you could even sand it down to fit.

The motor came from China, did it not?   Look on AliExpress.com for similar brushes.
