Sherco Clutch Biting! '04

Hi , i have a sherco 2004 - just brought it! the bloke b4 me said the plates have done 4-5 hours, i am finding the clutch is really biting - jumping! i have taken the cover off the clutch and the basket has movement - would this cause it to jump?? should there be any movements of the basket?

Yes the basket should move a bit, if you have a look at the attached drawing you'll see the basket is mounted on to rubber buffers things.

I'm guesing you have come off a older bike and probably the clutch slipped a little before biting, you should get used to it I think and if the clutch plate are that new they will get better for you with use.
