Had a problem with the gears on my Beta Rev 4t 2008 today.  The gear change shaft just rotates up and down but nothing appears to be attached to it.  .( it definitely isnt the lever just going around on the shaft)  

Fearing the worst on this one.

Does anyone have any ideas

I guess your gearbox is OK. I  think it´s the selector mechanism. To examine it, as far as I can remember, you´ll have to remove the clutch basket.

Its not uncommon for the weld to let go on the inner end of the shifter shaft on this model. Easy repair, just remove clutch.cover/clutch  and slide out'n  reweld. There was an older thread on here. Best of luck

It was the weld had broken. Now welded up and refitted. Many thanks for your help
