October 27, 20223 yr Few questions if anyone can help please? 1) Gas Gas parts give the three orings on the slave cylinder (1 outside that hold the needle roller, two hydraulic seals inside) as the same. Can that be right? 2) Are friction and/or steel plates interchangeable from old and new models? 3) What significance do the crosses on the standard steel plates have? Thanks in advance.
October 27, 20223 yr Guessing here. Looks like the new parts have have more slots and cutaways to allow more oil into the clutch so I wouldn't use the old parts even if they are in spec. As for the rest...nfi!
October 28, 20223 yr What year are the old plates from? They could be different thicknesses, otherwise they should be ok. Judging by the size of the friction pads they look old. Why are you changing plates already if its a 2022? Edited October 28, 20223 yr by faussy
October 28, 20223 yr Author We have been struggling with the clutch to get a decent bite position and feel for my boy. It also changes during a trial. I stripped it to have a look to see if there was anything obvious and was just comparing to some plates from my older bike.
August 14, 20233 yr I have also been struggling with a 2022 clutch after seven years on a 2015!! I've now tried all three settings with four oils to no avail. Clutch is perfect for first 20 mins then becomes more aggressive. I'm now going to try atf this week. Still unsure what crosses on plates are for.
