February 21, 20233 yr Just bought a 2008 4rt repsol and would like a service manual has anyone any idea were to get one .I have a SY250T but want to try a 4T, last montesa I had was a 349 outfit many many years ago. Any help would be appreciated.
July 18, 20233 yr I've been able to find the parts manual easy enough but struggling to find a link that still works for a service manual. I just picked up a 2012 4RT....anyone had luck lately finding an older service manual?
July 19, 20233 yr Considering there isn't a lot of changes between them I would guess that you would be able to use something newer for most if not all of the standard repairs most people would do outside of a few small changes. I have a 2007 4RT and 2017 300 RR and I could use my 2017 book to work on my 07 for 95% or more (maybe all?) of what I have done with them. Also, Honda shops if they know how to do it can look up the PDF's from what I understand however haven't ever had to ask or figure that out so might be mistaken. Good luck finding a 2012 or making a call on what to do. Side note: Can't seem to find a 2012 but I can find 2005, one for 2016, and a site that has 2017-2023 2005: http://www.overlandtrail.biz/Manual Montesa 4RT 05.pdf 2016: https://www.stblazeymx.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/MONTESA-Cota-4RT-16.pdf 2017 - 2023: https://www.montesa.com/en/manuals/ Edited July 19, 20233 yr by jonnyc21
July 19, 20233 yr Sad thing is every Montesa comes with a nice big service manual, so the previous owner didn't give you everything for your bike. Like jonny says the parts and manuals are for the most part interchangeable, I had 3 different model year 4RT' at the same time and swapped parts between them to trouble-shoot with no issues. Throttle body, fuel tank, ignition components all interchange with no issues. 2012 model, the first problem you encounter will be valve clearance adjustments when it becomes hard or impossible to start. Everything else on the 4RT is near indestructible and trouble free.
July 20, 20233 yr Thanks guys! I wasn't sure how similar the newer models were. I'll grab one of the newer manuals and go from there.
