13 Evo 250 muffler O rings…..

Featured Replies

Took muffler off during my inspection on the new to me bike and the o rings were hard broken junk. I’m trying to wrap my head around how the new ones will go on.

Do they go on the Ti header first, then slide the muffler on, hoping they go into their prospective grooves?
Seems optimistic at best…..

Yep. They go into the two grooves in the silencer then slide the header in. Don't tighten the bolts fully in header or silencer until it is all fully assembled.

The recess in the groove prevents that. They sit proud enough for the o-rings to act as seals yet sit deep enough to not be pushed into the silencer by the header pipe advancing inwards.

Mahalo…..

O-rings ordered. Though I did fab a seal using a custom cut section of fiberglass header wrap….perfect thickness and pretty easy to install.

Braaap.
