Beta Rev-80

Featured Replies

when my mate came to start his beta rev 80, The kick start whould not go down, it was locked soild :chairfall: has any one came across this problem before, or know what this problem might be.

Cheers Ryan :chairfall:

sound like the problem our moped-sidecar :chairfall: bodge we made. It was completely solid and had seized. probably due to us putting remote control car petrol in it :chairfall::chairfall: .

Take the cylinder head off and check the rings arent broken and are sat properly.

If they are take it to a local dealer and ask him to check it over

I dont think that it has seized becouse it was running good before he stalled it and when he came to start it the kick start was locked solid. but still keep the ideas comming.

check out the kickstart return qaudrant as they have a tendency to break on this model and can jam up the kickstart.

Have just rebuilt engine on my sons 04 80, drain water out, remove water pump housing, and clutch slave cylinder.

Lay bike on it's side to save draining gear oil, remove kick start and casing, you should then see whats wrong as its a simple arrangment.

Don't over tension kickstart return spring when you put it back together as this can brake the return stop inside. :chairfall:

If you need to remove the clutch basket just undo the 15mm bolt in the middle and the whole assembly will come off, you dont need to take the plates apart. :chairfall:

Take the Spark Plug out, put it into gear and see if you can turn the motor over. If this works ok then checkout the kickstart.

try puting it in gear and roll it back/forwad my gasser dose that some times so i just do what i just said and it moves i dont think it meshes propaly. let me know if it works
