I have a 2018 300 with black throttle tube.  It looks just like the 2T throttle.  Is a slower one available?  I have a 2016 Beta 300 4T standard model and the throttle has much more resolution for small blips, maybe 100% more resolution that makes throttle control much easier.  

The black is the slower throttle. Have you geared the bike down at all? Most do at least 1 tooth larger in the rear.

Blips is a 2-stroke habit and something that the 4RT does not like to do very much, the rider is rewarded through the use of a steady throttle hand.

Interesting comment.  Then, what would be the 4t technique for a basic double blip over a log?  

I went one tooth down on the front sprocket and that feels pretty good.

 

I think the 9 was over kill. That's like going to a 46 tooth rear. Puts you right in the middle of the power. If you look at a dyno of montesa power, the graph goes almost straight up from idle. 

 I messed around, the 42 was almost good. A 43 was too low. So I ended up with a 9 and a 38. But I am on a 301 which is much quicker.

I use a higher gear range compared to some, apply the revs a little earlier and use the clutch a lot more to moderate the launch acceleration.  4RT power is extremely linear and almost endless compared to the 2-strokes that thrive on short bursts of fast throttle.  4RT also has 5 clutch plates (3 cork & 2 paper) instead of 3 corks like many of the 2T bikes, design theory was to offer better bite.
