dvtechnics
Hey guys. My 2021 em escape r has stopped working. Ran it thru a pretty boring run up the mountain, came back down, everything was fine. The next day I go to start it and nothing. The battery engages, lanyard works, head display shows 98% and switching map to green light but their is zero power to the motor. Tried the reset cycle. Nothing. Even went as far as to replace the throttle control with a new domino throttle. Nothing. Has anyone dealt with this problem or does anyone know how the heck to fix this? Checked all connections, battery, fuse and everything's good.
konrad
Can you cycle through all the maps? Does the motor emit a tone when you change maps? If so, the controller may not be seeing the throttle input. You'll need a multimeter and some skill troubleshooting electrical circuits. Wiring diagram for the EM Race is here: https://www.electricmotiontech.com/home/em-epure-race/wiring-diagram The Escape will be similar. No tone on maps change but we did have a low pulse tone from the battery that maybe happened 3 times outta the 50 odd times we've started the bike to test. konrad
Not sure what you mean by a "low pulse tone from the battery." There is a large contactor inside the battery that makes an audible clunk every time the battery is switched ON or OFF.

I tried adding the video on here but it won't accept it and I guess it's hard to explain. Kinda like the hard disk drive turning a disk but can't read it so it keeps gliching. Probably doesn't make much sense. I'll keep trying to upload.

No lever. Has a regen button (i think) on the left side near the clutch
konrad
I have never seen a video uploaded directly to Trials Central. Pretty sure you must use an intermediary server (like YouTube) and then post a link. Try unplugging the connector for the Regen button. It will be labeled something like "FRB" for fixed regen braking. Edited Friday at 11:34 AM by konrad

konrad
That tone is being produced by the motor. It's indicating an error occurred while the controller was performing its "pre-flight" diagnostics (which take about 2 seconds to complete). One example of such an error would be the throttle being open during the diagnostic tests.
